Yeah, I agree about writing the code so that it keeps copying but excludes the non-perm item from the backup. In theory this is a great product but there are definitely some features like this that need a tweak. It need to do a full backup and just plow right past the non-copy items as though they don't exist, and if an item contains a non-copy item inside of it, it should at least copy all that is allowed be copied. It takes so long to get these things, which are basically images and XML date, copied from SL to your computer, having to deal with these inconveniences is a pain. I am trying to get as much of my inventory as I am allowed to take, because I am setting up my own regions on my own servers to connect to the OpenGrid. It'd be nice to take with me what I already own. It'd be nicer if I could take what I've paid for as well, perms or not, but I don't make the rules.

I feel that I need to chime in here.

It is 2011 NOW. Release client 2.0 is STILL allowing me to save out full perm sculpts and textures I bought, while your product is NOT. I bought this thing early last year in March. I backed up a lot of builds with it and now those builds are used on an educational offline opensim grid. When I came back a week ago to back up my never creations, I was given the bitter news by your update, I can no longer use your product.

PLEASE fix your product so that AT LEAST, sculpts and other full perm textures download as normal. Huge prims may be an iffy argument however those are all full perm and their creators are programs (scripts) not real people. Anyone that has the 7000 HugePrims set knows that.

WHAT do you need us to do to motivate you? PLEASE respond. I desperately need this product to work.

If I dont see a response from you, I am going to write my own script that walks through the linked set, saves all attributes into a notecard and then the same script on the opensim side can apply everything once I transfer textures etc over as well. It is more painful than the previous process but it will work.

I just don't understand why you would mess up a good thing and then not fix it when it became obvious Linden Lab does not practice what they preach.

I agree when i first purchased this program it was great for backing up textures and some clothing items although the hangup when it got to a certain point was frustrating,it did work to a point....now that they have dissabled Dl textures its pretty much worthless, considering i create clothes i purchase textures from Marketplace and now i have to DL ever texture 1 by 1 now considering i have about 20,000 textures in my inventory thats pretty much outa the question.LL still allowes Dl of textures so why cant we use SI backup to do the same it makes no sense.
I pray this gets rectified soon or this will be 5K down the drain.....I just want it to work thats all,i know software development is an on going process and can be very tough to follow all the guidlines set forth by restricting companies but since LL hasnt blocked that specific use then you shouldnt !!!

I agree. SI is totally useless now. It is not only the complete lack of functionality on items I KNOW I CREATED but also the draconian DRM protection that doesn't stop pirates and only frustrates legitimate users.

I understand protecting your intellectual property but this is ridiculous.
