Hello again SI Team.
Would it be please possible to include a facility to be able to restore an entire backed up folder to our servers. It is quite annoying to have things organized in folder structures which are download from other grids and then having to restore things One by One. As a Builder / Scripter / Dev, I have projects and systems all organized within a folder/sub-folders structure.
I realize that the main issue lies with the LIB because in essence you are not returning inventory to an existing folder, because this is a "New Item" and therefore the LIB defaults will place things in certain Default Folders (Objects to Objects, Body Parts to Body Parts, Textures to Textures) which I know you have no control over. Maybe if you could convince the LIB team to add that functionality it would benefit everyone. (They will likely argue about that).
In the interim, It should be possible to at least recreate the original folder structure so that people can just copy the respective items into a Familiar Structure. It's not a complete solution but may be of assistance to folks.
Batch Uploads.
This is a feature I see as possible. To be able to allow the Client to select a Batch of items to upload. This would require the default prompting to be changed, so that the end user makes their choices prior to start and that runs for that batch.
- Upload Mode: Advanced($$ for Items with Upload Fees on Grid X) or Standard (no $$ upload) scripts/notecards and blank prims etc.
- Auto Take object(s) after restoration.
- Retry Attempts (number of tries), Re-queue failed uploads @ end of job.
! - Retry Count should be limited to possibly 3 attempts and then Skip & Continue automatically.
. LOG this for re-attempt, possibly re-queue it to end of batch with a default of 1 retry if re-queued. (could cause a nasty loop if not capped)
- AFTER BATCH Upload, Advise avatar on state of batch and maybe even place them in the folder where things were restored to, so they can copy to whatever sub-folder structure they have.
Just some thoughts, Hope it Helps
